Going

After nearly four years our Freelander is being traded in on Thursday.

New car is a S Max, to enable us (wife) to get all the grandchildren in on the constant running about we (she) does for them.

Still keeping the commercial though, so at least I will have transport if winter is as bad as last year, as the weather men are predicting. 2009 Grey HSE Auto

Good move on having a 4x4 still. Shame it's going but I hear good things about the S-Max and even Clarkson likes it. Nice cars me thinks.

Hope all goes well with the new motor Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Drove one for 3 years. Great Car, doesn't feel like a bus at all and solid. I hope that you have gone for the 2.2 diesel cos the 2.o is just too underpowered for the size car that it is, especially when all 7 seats are occupied. Oh and they have a voracious appetite for tyres. I was getting through a set of front tyres about every 12-14k miles.

Had I guy come to visit me at work and he asked about the Smax and whether it got through tyres quickly. I told him about the mileage I was getting. His bosses wife had one and was getting through fronts about every 10-12k.

The line in for the iPod is a bit of an odd one. If you have a charger on the iPod / DVD player etc and plug it into the line in, you get a ground loop whine (think that is what it is called) anyway, as the car accelerates, you can hear the whine through the stereo. If it is a problem, get one of these http://www.ioffer.com/i/mini-3-5mm-noise-f...ource=eisi it will stop it Very Happy

Those are the only two issues that I had with the car over the time I owned it. Great motor. Enjoy Hi Darling, I'll be home in 10 mins. If I'm not back, please read this message again...

Thanks

Went for the 2.0 lt diesel 163, titanium x spt, in black again, so looks really good, will check out the ipod connection soon and keep an eye on the tyre wear.

Picked the car up last thursday and had a stone chip in the windscreen on the way home, later cracked in the frosty weather, so had new screen fitted today.
