As a long term Vauxhall enthusiast, yes it is looking like this could be happening. 10 years warranty is being looked at.

To be honest, you don't want to knock Vauxhall these days. As well as the FL2, I have a Vauxhall Insignia and the build quality is far better than the FL2! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I think they have announced it MAV, but build quality may be good on the Insignia but the Antara?
Mind you Mcphers may be giving them a look as he has gone off the Sorento.

I have seen the advert in this mornings paper 100,000 mile /lifetime for 1st owner warranty.
Now correct me if I'm wrong but I have been led to believe that most Vauxhalls have 2 types of owners.

1) The fleet purchaser New > 2 or 3 Yrs
2) The middle age/family man who buys one second hand because they are dirt cheep because they have been a fleet car.

So neither of them will test out the extended warranty Whistle

Granted the Insignia is far better than the Antara, but the Antara is not that bad build quality wise, it just has a Censored Korean engine. Although it's a 2.0 CDTi, it's not the same as the Astra/Insignia 2.0 CDTi engine. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Yes, it does read like that so I am looking into it. I for sure will look to buy a new Insignia after my current one runs out of warranty at 60,000 miles. Work wise, a 100,000 mile warranty will last me about 3 to 3 1/2 years! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. This will also affect "pre registered" cars. A % of dealer special offers are first registered in dealers name and sold with delivery mileage at a good discount.
This is more common just before a new or facelift model is due.
The way I read this means these cars will not count for 10 year warranty.
Wonder what Ford will do to compete?
Toyota now with 5year warranty on vehicle.

Knowing LR money making tricks if they extend to 5 year they will up the price of new car by price of 2 year extended warranty.

You get nothing for nothing in the motor trade.

Rember "if its got tyres or t-ts your going to have problems" All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

Vauxhall will have to start designing and screwing there cars together better...we took an insignia apart at uni a couple of months back doing some facelift work on it and it pretty much falls apart in your hands! Along with panels not fitting straight...shut lines huge in places and not in others etc! Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35
