United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black
New Owner - First impressions (HSE Auto)

Picked up our new HSE Auto in Santorina Black with almond leather yesterday morning, we're still getting used to her but initial thoughts are;

Quality feel throughout, switch gear feels like it will last
Very refined and quiet on the move
Excellent seating position, drivers seat can be almost comically high
Good paint finish, car looks very solid
Very smooth 6 speed auto

Things to improve;

Nothing integrated - phone and audio appear only on the audio, sat nav only on the sat nav, computer only on the dash. All needs to be on the colour screen if its fitted
Computer is slow to react to button, limited functionality
Lack of cubby holes in front, especially sunglasses holder
Would be better with darker strip at top of windscreen
Armrests are lovely but get in the way of handbrake, can't imagine what they are like with a manual
Tailgate is heavy to open and close, electric option would be good
Engine could do with more grunt, may be fixed in 2011MY FL2 auto

But overall we are delighted and looking forward to many years of family motoring out of her. Its only been 36 hours and she's been off road already and I even managed to use HDC!

Does anyone know if the Focus/Mondao sunglasses holder fits, I got one of those clip on the visor ones but that pinches the visor a bit so not so nice Sad

England 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HST Manual Zermatt Silver
Power Upgrade

For anyone wanting more 'grunt', I have a Bluefin upgrade device from Superchips. Having now sold my HST, it's a bit obsolete, so waiting for a new owner. I'm not sure if it's specific to the actual e-prom in my car, or whether it workd with all 2.2 diesel engines, but I guess it would be still cheaper for Supechip to upgrade through the internet than buying another.

I realise that LR can get sniffy about things, so send me a private message if anyone is interested Whistle
