Replacement tow bar key.

Picked up the Freelander a couple of weeks ago. The tow bar was fitted and no keys came with the car. I've removed the tow bar along with the housing as it protrudes too much and I value my shins.

How difficult is it to get replacement keys? Or can you replace the lock itself like with the D3 tow bar?

Thanks

have you looked under the boot floor to see if they left the blue bag with the blanking plate keys and towball cover there?

The blue bag and blanking plate are under the boot floor as you say. Although there is a key number on the lock the dealers have yet been unable to supply new keys. I think I'll give Nick at Yeovil a call.

Any decent locksmith should be able to cut a new set of keys for you as they are not make from a restricted blank.

Just reread my post, should have gone to Secsavers. Obviously if you do not have the original keys my suggestion is not much help, but if you can dismantle the lock and remove the barrel the locksmith should be able to help but it could be expensive and is probably a last resort.
