Thought this may be interesting.

Land Rover is also likley to benefit from the new two wheel drive powertrain. Though no official announcement has been made, it seems likley that the technology will be made available on a front wheel drive edition of the facelifted Land Rover Freelander - which is due on sale later in 2010. Land Rover is also planning to introduce a new version of the TD4 E stop and start Freelander - this time paired with an automatic gearbox.

would be nice if you could select 2 or 4 wheel drive, save on fuel when on road and able to select 4 wheel drive in crap conditions - gets my vote anyway! Thumbs Up

I'm definitely putting my order on hold - but no doubt I'll have to pay more because they aren't likely to discount the face-lifted model.

Two wheel drive will do for me to be honest because I'll never venture off road - will be a bit embarrassing getting stuck in the snow in a Land Rover though Embarassed Prospective Freelander 2 owner

I got stuck in snow on the 1st June last year, so its not just 2-wheel drive's to worry about - its the driver that counts Embarassed 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
