England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Rimini Red
Turbo Howling

I just took my car in to have the extremely loud and irritating turbo howl,vibration looked at and the solution is ............................... They all do that now, it can't be fixed....................And thsi si from Landrover technical.
Does anybody elses car make thsinoise??? it starts at medium throtle opening when changing up from 1st to2nd to 3rd.

Nope. You can hear it but mine's not loud compared to other turbo's I've had.

Sounds unusual. Might be a leaky hose or knacked turbo? Have you got loss of power?

Ask for a drive in one of their demonstration fl2's and compare the noise.

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Stornoway Grey

Had the same problem with both FL2's i have owned and posted the problem a couple of years ago as "strange noise when changing gear on Auto"

Seems to happen at around 2000 rpm when changing up,worse when engine warm, both vehicles had the same noise after about three months of ownership.

Tried demo vehicle and that was the same.

Obviously a common problem so have tried to ignore it, does not seems to have got any worse and not causing any other problem Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto with Winter Pack, Stornaway Grey, Ebony, Grey Mirror Caps. Removable towbar with 13 pin Electrics
