Peeling top coat?

Hi all,
I've done a search but I can't find anything on here about this: The laquer (top coart) on the paint is flaking off on my rear wheel arches - behind the wheel, both sides! It's a one piece molding as far as I can see, starts one side and passes under the bootlid and round to the other wheelarch; all GRP or some kind of plastic. Granted, it's liable to flex at speed but on close inspection, it's flaking off under the rear light cluser as well!

Two questions come to mind:
1. Anyone else seen this on theirs? Mine's Stornaway - it might be a colour-related problem
2. On a 2.5 year old car, surely this would be a warranty issue?

Advice, sympathy or comment, anyone?

Cheers! SE on an 07 plate

Assuming the vehicle has never been crash repaired and re-sprayed using the wrong undercoat etc. I'd get your FL2 taken back to the dealer ASAP for a warranty claim. FL2 HSE Manual in Stornaway Grey

I tend to agree with the above, but it sounds like your car has been in past rersprayed for whatever reason.

My rear bumper flaked after it was resprayed after LR resprayed after scratching it putting the towbar on when I first had the grey one

that was due to it not been done properly at the edges Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hmm..I've had a good look at this and I can't see any sign of a respray at all; this really does look like the original lacquer is peeling off! It's on both sides of the car so if it were a resprak, someone would have had to do the entire panel, right from one side round to the other - it would be unusual to do that much, surely. SE on an 07 plate

..in the same place, ctl11? The lower panel, the one fitted with the reversing sensors (assuming they're on yours, that is). SE on an 07 plate
