United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Aintree Green

Hi Dave

I have also just taken delivery of a Freelander black L E with out TR
I was told that the TR was just an Off Road Butler,
That the 4 wheel drive system would auto lock the diff/diffs when needed.

I have not yet had the chance to go off road as only had her for one week so was very intrested in your reply`s from your posting.

So would any of you guys agree with what I have been told ?

Also have you worked out your mpg yet would be interested in what you are getting ?

Many thanks
Regards

Alan

I Thought there was a BLACK (or white) based on the 'S' Model and then the LE was a higher spec'd SPORT LE available in Black or Grey and came with TR?

If Not what a load of B Censored cks £27k for a Sport LE and no TR,
So basically It's An 'S' with £6k of accessories on it-Even EV ain't got £6k worth of accessories on his.

TR is just an off road butler, but it is good, there are no locking diffs any Fl2 its all done using the brakes, a non TR FL2 has traction control but without the fine tuning At work

I stopped on a snowy dual carriageway in M&S setting in my auto, left it in drive, pulled on the handbrake and the car started moving forward with the braked wheels locked and sliding ans the other two whells pulling it along!!!
always shove it in neutral when you pull the handbrake on.

Hi Dave and Hello to all

let us know what your MPG over the first 1k

Have not yet tried MP3 socket but AndyT has said Yes Thanks Andy T

Hope you enjoy your new Freelander. I must say I am, but have only had for just over a week, My last cars where Volvo S60`s and had been driving then for the past 8 years as company cars I must say they are good or should I say where good untill Volvo stopped making that model. But on the positive if they had not stopped production I would have not chosen the Freelander as my new conpany car.

Point Raised by Rowy, The L E Black is the limited Edition priced at £19500

C G, with referance to my comment " diff lock" I was refering to drive from both wheels on same axle at same time

2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e S Manual Santorini Black

Hi Alan,

Picked up my Freelander last Friday. Wow - I love it!

I have so far driven 350 miles and am showing an average of 36.1 MPG. Most of the driving has been semi urban around country lanes but also included a 150 mile round trip on Motorways. So far so good! I reckon I can push that up to late 30s with a couple more motorway journeys.

My MP3 aux mode works fine on both speakers. I bought an AUX lead from Carphone Warehouse for £9 which connects my iPhone with no problems. Quality is pretty good considering its a standard system.

Keep in touch with how you get on!

Regards
Dave

Driving 12 miles into the shops and back, I can get 30mpg with the Disco, 34/35mpg with the old FL2. I'd think with the stop start, you should be looking at 40mpg.
