BUT it was well worth a days drive to London to collect from the forum sponsors Lookers Park Royal (rebranded Charles Hurst Park Royal)

if you are thinking of changing their sales experience is the best I have had ever

I tried but never got any response to my email enquiries

I called them nearly 3 weeks ago and spoke to Matt and still waiting for a call back!

Boolia, can't understand it. Normally Lookers are good at contacting me anyway, both by phone and e-mail. We just have this difference over price. I am sure they will see the errors of their ways. I am not unreasonable if I get my own way.

As for the auto Omega, yes put it back. They have a 2 year warranty. If it's older, it will cost a bit. There is always a debate over auto or quartz. quartz are very accurate, to within 4 seconds a year, and I've heard the battery can last 5 years, which at 90 quid plus for a battery change, is just as well. The autos are good too. not quite so accurate, but no complications with changing batteries. Never heard of one screwing up like yours. If it's out of warranty, use a horologist. I found one in norfolk that specialised in Omegas, not that I can afford one.

You could always flog your faulty one to me. PM me if interested, with details.

I thought it was all dealers sending out the same corporate letters...its from Hunters in Guildford.

As for watches, they're like cars, some bad ones get through the QA. You can't beat a Rolex for resale though. Phil

Boolia,

If you are who I think you are (A1 area Merc ML), then Matt (and I) have been trying to contact you. I would classify it as relentless via phone & text. If you call Matt he'll explain, or PM me another contact number.

Apologies that the 2nd part of the conversation has not yet happened.

Just about to become a land rover owner for the first time. Moving from a Honda crv.

I have a price of £27,485 for a xs e (nav) inc priv glass, full leather and met paint.

Does this sound like a good deal or do you think I could do better.

Hi,

26,681 is what you should have paid cash for the XS including all the add ons. If you purchased it under the zero percent 2 year deal, called the Advance Purchase Plan, then add 1k plus VAT. This is the amount that LR do not subside the dealer for taking the zero percent deal. That would be the cheapest at the moment.

So, in reply to your question, it depends on if it was a cash deal or APP, the other variable is the price you were given for your trade in, which you can only check by referring to the Parkers or Glaass's Guide.

What can I say? Yes, you are quite right a GS with a few add ons to your taste. Yes, I know the arguement you don't get the price of the extras back, but you don't recoup the price of going up a model either. i know if you are looking a S compared to GS second hand prices, your talking 1.7k difference, when the car is proportionately so much more expensive to start with, some 3.5k.

Anyway, 22,065 including privacy and paint for a GS OTR. Then add up what packs you like.

I have not bought it yet, I have wed off work to sort it out. I looked at the price online but the garage said that was not possible.

claim these Internet sites don't actually have the cars.

Michsmail.

Your dealers having a laugh?

Okay, these internet sites do have cars, I was a 'ba hair' away from ordering via one of these sites last year when I got a new Disco, but that apart, if you've read this thread, then the LR dealers mentioned, will supply a car for pretty much an identical price.

That said, all things change week to week. In other words whats cheap this week, may be different next. A fluid, dynamic market place.

The price you paid wasn't bad, I just think, despite the difference in price between one web company and the dealer you choose, you could have shaved 500 pounds off it by using one of the dealers I mention.

Try the ones mentioned. You have got to give them a price to beat and be honest, BS tends to get detected a mile off, just as we can smell it when the dealers start.
