Funny Story!

Today whilst out and about I noticed my tyre looked a little low, on closer inspection noticed a screw it it Censored

Anyway with darkness fast approaching I quickly emptied the boot and took the spare out, removed the jack (covering myself in grease in the process - jack has never been used), got it into position and began to undo the wheel nuts. I then remembered I needed my locking wheel nut 'key' so went back into the boot and looked in both of the side trays - not there, thinking it may have fell into the spare wheel area I searched in there - no sign of it! I then proceeded to search through all of the stuff that I had taken out of my boot, nope not there. Starting to panic I searched all the door bins and emptied the glove box - no sign of it still!

Its now almost dark and im 99.99% sure that it is in the car but nevertheless beginning to panic then in a moment of madness I clouted the right hand side tray in the boot and it lifted up to reveal ................ a small compartment with the key inside!! Bow down

Word of advice - if like me you have put your locking wheel nut key in the hidden compartment under the right hand side tray, stick a note or something on your jack / spare wheel to remind you where it is!!!!

Out of interest, if I couldnt find the key, would LR Assist still come out? What can they do of you dont have the key?? Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

I fitted a new set of tyres a couple of months ago and a week later had a screw in one that couldnt be repaired so another new tyre. Evil or Very Mad

Then sunday I was checking tyre pressure and found ANOTHER screw in a different tyre. Whizzed it up to Kwik sh*t and the guy says "hang on you might be lucky". Pulls it out and it was only a small screw so hadnt penetrated. Very Happy Very Happy
He said they were getting loads of motors in at the minute with stuff in the tyres due to the crap on the road this time of year not being able to wash away because of the snow. Confused

PS I realise I am asking for it submitting a post with "small screw", "penetrated", "had a screw in one" but hey ho Whistle
