I thought HDC only worked in first, or is that only on manuals ? Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well.

Used mine today in the 10 inches Rhondda snow with no problems whatsoever, had great fun mainly to get people into work.To get out of my street I have to get pass 2 steep hills, it done it no problem, on my return tonight I had to use HDC to get back down these steep hills, which was excellent, dealt with it no problem. HDC - FL2 MANUAL GEARBOX

LR state that HDC:
1: Should only be used in first or reverse gear.
2: HDC is automatically selected by some TRP's (G/G/S+M/R) - (see CG's comment re "Mud-Ruts".)
3: In a situation in "2" above HDC can be manually deselected - press HDC switch.
4: HDC may be engaged manually at any time but not at speeds in excess of 50kph.
5: Re "4" HDC then remains active at all times if it has been manually selected in a TR Programme.
6: When active, descent speed can be increased by the use of the accelerator to the maximum predetermined speed of the selected gear (first or reverse), however, the use of the Cruise Control+ switch is recommended as this delivers controlled and predetermined (0.5kph) increments in speed, as is, the CC- switch to decrease speed with more finesse.
7: Depressing the clutch at any time will prevent the HDC from controlling the speed of descent.
8: If the brake pedal is depressed HDC will be overridden and the brakes function normally. When the brake pedal is released HDC will resume control of the decent.
