Terrain Response

Hi group,

Had the car for a month now and everything going just fine Very Happy , but I have a question.

Been trying the car out in the different terrain response modes just to get a feel on how they affect the vehicle.
Whilst in the "Sand Mode" I noticed that when I went round a roundabout that the symbol for an axle appeared in the drivers display.

Do these cars have a limited slip diff in the axle Question , have I done anything wrong Question , can't seem to find any reference to it in the manual.

Any info would be appreciated ______________________

No limited slip diffs between wheels, simulated by brakes (braking slippng wheel).

As for Sand mode it is important to know direction of front wheels ib sand, drivers display just show it. Freelander 2 HSE i6 Tonga Green

Does it show it all the time I'm in "Sand Mode" Question , the symbol only appeared after I had driven round a roundabout.......it didn't actually show the wheels pointing in any particular direction, it just showed an axle with 2 wheels.

Is there a document anywhere that gives details of the symbols that might appear on the screen with a description of what they mean...........ain't nothing in the handbook. ______________________

Did it look like it had anything between the two wheels on the symbol, or just a plain axle and two wheels?

I have no clue personally, but think there are ISO symbols (?) used as standard display items for cars. Sounds strange that it would come up only on the roundabout, except if it was limited slip diff.

Perhaps I missed what the display was showing as I was going round the roundabout, only caught a glimpse of it afterwards then it dissapeared Confused ______________________

Nope, I was wrong no ISO standard, it's what they are pushing for still.

All of the symbols I found showing axles were for diff locks or different variations.

I thought this was the "Driver Information Display" for when offroading, so you knew which way the wheels were pointing.

I noticed it when I'd switched on HDC to use the gradient release feature, then turned the wheels.

I don't think it switches to this view unless you are moving though.

So after enjoying my new F-2 for a few days the following has occured:

1. The side mirrors do not fold, haven't done that from the start. The dealer will take a look at this next week.

and number 2. After 600 km thereof the last 100 on gravel road, on my way home the system shows:

"Terrain Response not available" Tried to shut down the car and restart from scratch but NO.

Has anyone experienced that? I might have overseen it on the forum

pj

ps
Went to the dealer this morning. The car was emmediately taken in for investigation. They put a brand new BMW X3 in my hands meanwhile. Interesting to find the difference between the two of them. Good service over here

pps. .............and after half a day a the dealer's garage, the problem is solved.......he he he
