United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

It is as he says a hidden gem amongst LR products, driving position and visibility are second to none.

What a great pity that its shape and useability was not continued.

I am approaching 12 years of SD4 driving, and still can't see a real replacement. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 76k+ miles) (MY2015)

Same here Ian, the high tax at £395 is a pain and the options are few and far between

My i6 is about £700 now still wouldn't swap it. Common sense isn't very common.

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Zermatt Silver

JLR don't make anything for Freelander owners. They are more interested in very expensive cars full of gadgets that aren't that versatile. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

I'm the same - cant see me ever buying a JLR vehicle again - I need something practical, reliable and affordable (and its not just about the purchase price) Jules

He was quite taken with it, and I thought his summary was not far from the truth. I'm thinking about getting a few more before they're all gone, maybe some different colours, because most of the new cars leave me cold. No where to put them of course, but I can work on that.

Its still a lot cheaper than a equivalent new car, especially as a new FL2 SD4 like mine would now be £48K taking inflation into account.

I think you'd be looking at a first year VED of around £2800
