Key fob

Hi, I sold my Freelander in April (thank you Mr Khan) and have today found a spare key fob. I’m presuming it’s vehicle specific so unless anyone on here has bought it then it’s no use to anyone?
As far as I’m aware the vehicle was MOT tested in Morpeth, so looks as if it’s up north somewhere

" I’m presuming it’s vehicle specific....."

Yes you are correct.

Although it could be reprogrammed by a Dealer AT A HUGE COST to another vehicle.

RRUK - what are your professional thoughts.

Hi Jules, to be honest I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this, I thought I’d passed both keys to the dealer when we p/ex. Can only think they were the new fobs I’d got from RRUK and this was one of the originals. Unless there’s someone on here has bought the car and wants the fob I’ll get shot of it

I’d never really used the Freelander to its full potential, more for its easy access and driving position. The Karoq meets those requirements and has proved to be a decent car thus far. We’d thought about the Kodiaq but couldn’t see we’d ever need the 7-seat capability and fundamentally that’s the only real difference I’d say between the two. We opted for the Sportline 1.5dsg (Skoda speak for auto!) which is consistently returning 40mpg on local runs, we’re yet to go on a decent Mway journey but would expect to better that. Infotainment set up took some getting used to, especially the satnav, probably more down to ‘operator error’. Only complaint I really had was with the 19in alloys, fitted with OEM Bridgestones which found ever single bump and pothole. General consensus from other Skoda owners was to swap to smaller rims but I went against that and fitted CrossClimates which have been an absolute revelation, chalk and cheese in comparison to the Bridgestones; and Significant Other’s happy now 😏

The CrossClimates through Camskill came in on a special deal at around £600 and there was a Michelin cashback offer of £50 which pretty much covered the fitting cost. Well worth the outlay

I suspect most now fall into the 'unhelpful' category, unauthorised access to police computers can lead to dismissal / prosecution. I'd not risk it. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
