Cheers PK… hope it stays going okay.

My issues are that the engine will start, tick over and run… but sometimes on idle… it will dip revs and sometimes it’s stays on and continues to dip, other times it will just conk out. When I’m driving, it can be okay sometimes but now mostly recently, it will just stop when driving… especially when off the revs, it seems to dip low then stops…

Don’t think it’s been right since I ran out of fuel once and it was a challenge to get started… think I will need to take the fuel pump off to have a look. Shocked Shocked

It took me a bit of effort to re-prime the fuel system to make sure fuel is getting right through the system. It can be a bit of a git to get rid of air bubbles out of the system.
I'm no expert as you can see from this thread and there are plenty of others on here who are a great help.
Obviously, my issue was my broken camshaft. But to get to that conclusion I'd changed some sensors which, when I fixed the camshaft stopped the car from starting. Putting the old ones back on fixed that problem so beware cheap sensors.
To me, sounds like an issue somewhere in the fuel delivery system. The pump in the fuel tank just transfers fuel from one side of the tank to the other as the tank sits like a saddle. If that fails then you can have fuel in one side but the side where fuel is drawn from could be empty, but still showing fuel on the gauge.
The High Pressure fuel pump at rear right side of engine as you look at it draws the fuel through the system. The fuel filter between tank and HP pump is situated on the front of the engine centre left as you look at it. Apparently, these need changing at certain intervals but cheaper replacements often fail quickly so you need a decent one.
On the HP pump at the rear bottom of it is the fuel regulator. These can be replaced without having to get a whole new pump. Then on the fuel rail there is the fuel regulator sensor on the right of the rail and the fuel pressure sensor on the left.
You could have a faulty pressure sensor if it's throwing up that code.
I found that fuelling issues are a bit of a mare as there are a few elements that can fail and cause codes to come on and issues to occur.
There are some good videos on YouTube explaining how to check some of these sensors.

That's a good one for checking the fuel regulator valve on the fuel rail.

Thanks for the video post. The one that worked clicked… but the 3rd one seemed to click too… but he failed this one?? What am I missing?

Sorry. The last one is short circuiting and clicking at the battery terminal.
What he tries to show you with the working one is the hole at the side. There is a spring in there that you should see move when you connect it to the battery. It's a nice, crisp clock also.

Did you need to change both the regulator (the 'L' shaped bit) and the Pressure sensor at the other end of the fuel rail?

If so, do you know the part nymbers?

I didn't change the 'L' shaped one on the right of the fuel rail. I did change the pressure sensor on the other end but it turned out to be either faulty or needed calibrating which I don't have the tech to do.
This us the number that was for the one I got:
LR022334
Not sure if that's the genuine part number though.

Also, the camshaft and crankshaft sensors can also cause fuelling and running issues when they start playing up.
