IID Tool trickery

Got access to an IID tool for a few more weeks, after borrowing one to sort out my D3.

Any quick and simple enhancements/mods I can do, before I hand it back to its owner. Obviously will have to register it to this car for a short time, but happy to do that.

TIA

Not very much to be honest. If I recall correctly, the changes I made to mine were: auto locking of doors above a certain speed, mirrors fold/unfold on locking and global opening/closing of windows and sunroof with long keyhold. There are other things you can do like change the heated seat temperatures but these are pretty well optimised from the factory. Best thing is to just have a play around with it.

The IID functionality is severely limited on the Freelander 2. So much so I've thought about selling mine, as I've got SDD. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Global opening and closing of the windows is set from the key fob but I understood that the sun roof was on a different circuit and so couldn’t be included in this operation. Are you saying it can be included with the IID device (and presumably with SDD)?

Yes it can, at least on my MY11.

Not to everyone's taste, but I used my IID Tool to change my lighting to "Scandinavian" mode. Perhaps less useful on post-facelift models where you already have daytime driving lights (although even then I prefer dipped headlights). 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

After driving Volvos for twenty years I absolutely agree with having Scandinavian mode on the lights. I used a clone Mongoose cable and a hacked version of SDD to do this.

Yes, a combination of having had Saabs and Volvos and living in a dreich climate where cars really don't stand out, make one appreciate the sense of having dipped headlights on during the day. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

I put my new to me FL2 onto my iiD tool the other day and what a disappointment regarding what you can do with it. My L322 has a heap of things and the freeby not much at all.
Besides a SSD and mongoose, is there anything else that will do a lot more than what the iiD does?
Nanocom, autel ??, any other suggestions.
TIA

Well after the 2000k drive from the Gold Coast to laid back Tassie, I put the iid tool back on and to my surprise it came up with a bunch of things that didnt appear when I first put the code in so I could get access to the inner workings of the little beast.
I'll be playing around with it over the next few days so I'll see how I go.

OK, that's good to hear. Please keep us updated with your discoveries, as I'm quite interested in the inner workings too. I have the Autel 200, and the UI on that is a bit, er, challenging, but there is some usable functionality under there.
