Scotland 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey
queries from new FL2 owner

2010 FL2 HSE diesel auto.
Good afternoon folks, having had my FL2 now for two months and enjoying the car i have a couple of questions.
Looking at lots of you tube videos i saw one where on the screen in front of the driver the front wheel direction was shown.
Cannot get my car to show this. Is this only on certain models? Had an outing recently at LRE Dunkeld where the Range Rover has this goodie.
Secondly, on my Boot door it just says Freelander 2 and TD4. I have seen some cars with HSE, GS,S and some with only TD4 or SD4. Do I have to buy HSE letters to put on the door.?
After 17 years of Disco 1 and 2 the Fl2 is a completely different ballgame and i am sure I still have lot to learn.
looking forward to replies.
cheers

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

Hi and welcome along
The staring symbol on the centre screen is only displayed in special programs like HDC to show the direction your front wheels are pointing

As for the letters they should have been on there but some people take them off.
Powerful uk sell lettering in a variation of finishes if you want them. MY06 FL1 TD4 2 door red (gone)
MY07 FL2 SE TD4 black (gone)
MY13 FL2 GS TD4 Santorini black

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

I've seen lesser models have the model designation badging removed, to hide that's it's a "poverty" model, but I can't think why anyone would remove the HSE badging. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate on order.
Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE.

For that model year Land Rover omitted the HSE designation on the boot so your car is correctly badged as it is👍

Often it is people down playing.

It is only a small percentage of us who buy our cars with cash, so then we can get it there with the angle grinder & make endless modifications! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Thanks for the replies. Will need to find a quiet hill and try HDC.
Had it on Disco 2, only used it now and again to make sure it was working.
I do miss my Disco but the more I drive the Freelander the more I enjoy it.
No doubt there will be more questions. Jim A

Well I've just done a small look on eBay.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R4...dcat=29748

of 28 vehicles shown, that claim to be MY10 HSE, most do have the HSE, but there are some that don't have the HSE livery.

It’ll go faster without the extra weight of those letters Wink

Cannot get my car to show this.

Switch to Mud'n'Roots and turn the steering wheel more than one quarter turn in any direction for the wheel direction to appear on the dash.

Good forums are a godsend to assist owners keeping their cars on the road, thoroughly enjoyed the D2BC and agree that here is just as good👍 Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
