Rubber Mud Flaps

Hi

Looking at fitting Mud Flaps. On looking at the LR Flaps they seem to be a hard plastic with a concave forward face section that would collect mud. When off road feel that the plastic my brake when pushed back by mud etc.
Have been looking for a Rubber type but can only find the universal type that look a bit tatty.

Can any one advise on if the LR Flaps are OK or any other type. Question

Regards Alan

How vivid is your imagination you can fit anything! Get some defender mudflaps maybe get the front set all round as the rear one left hand side has a cut out for the exhaust. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

The land Rover originals are better made than the copies. I have had both & they are semi soft plastic.

My genuine ones are in my garage after I reversed into a rock step and the wheel ripped one off.

Hi All
Thanks for the feedback

Main reason to fit is to protect the paint work.

LR looks the way to go

Regards Alan

Recent thread, left mudflap missing, right mudflap on the car. Since these photos I have replaced with originals. I actually bought a second spare set of originals but to date have not needed to use them.

I would agree with above... LR mud flaps are better than the copies. They don't catch all the mud but the will catch some. They reduce road spray behind yer FL2 but not all of it. Less water in the air for the vehicle behind if you fit them. Will also reduce the amount of mud/water etc hitting yer FL2. You can knock them off oft road but that's down to how extreme yer want to go. I always fit them to vehicles I own. Hippo's videos - Honorary Tratterer

Two stills from a short view I had on dash cam (how do I upload whole video, thru YouTube ?)

You will notice 'lost mud flap' on off-side, and 'just about on mud flap' on near-side.
Are they worth it ??

Still haven't lost a LR original mud flap yet.

As best as I can tell those Tuff mud flaps look too large & would more easily be ripped off.
