The Freel2 charges the battery at different voltages depending on the type of Battery in the CCF and the Temperature

If you look at the chart you will see that there is a higher voltage and a lower voltage.

The higher voltage is used to fast charge the battery

The lower voltage is used to slow charge the battery

Above about 25°C you drop the voltage charge by about 0.15 volts per 1°C. A lot of grey nomads are pretty fussy about their off grid battery setups. A lot of money invested in batteries & they want to keep them as reliable as possible & have a battery temperature sensor. Probably the Freelander has a battery temperature sensor as part of the energy management but I have never looked. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I will look into the battery management problem.

I have replaced the battery for a new one and this has not cleared any fault codes for the HDC, ABS and brakes.

I also have a new engine management fault appear as both the yellow light on the dash and on the information centre on the LCD screen.

When I had the engine fault show up, immediately the car went into limp mode but after approximately 1 mile of driving it was completely normal again. I now have 4 warning lights on the dash but driving is not affected it seems.

Have also read the DPF could be full but there are no warning lights for this.

I guess I'll buy a code reader and find out where the fault is originating from.
