England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Baltic Blue

It was - same year as my son. most of the ralliers thought jack was a wimp. SWupported by an expedition prepared mitsubishi truck for the camera crew. The old wooden bridge he worried about crossing on the TV programme was one they drove over without stopping. Very Happy

They had a great time. Fell off the main road to Moscow. Tried to outdrink the Moscow Everton supporters club (failed) Long days driving on Khazakstan dirt tracks and through the mountains of khyrgyzstan. Split fuel tank in mongolia- welded up by local garage Shocked Then rammed from behind by a profesional rally driver racing in 3 tonnes of fully prepared porsche cayenne - Only my son could have an accident with another car in the middle of the gobi desert. Still they made it and I was just so envious

At least I get to play getting the car ready

It would be a great trip in the FL2 Thumbs Up He who dies with the most tools wins!

Belgium 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

Starting 1987
1. Ford Escort (Mk3?)
2. Ford Fiesta
3. Nissan Pathfinder - company car for wadi and desert work in Oman - from 1990
4. Jeep Wrangler 4.0 L petrol (red) - personal/wife's car in Oman. Superb on the dunes. (J. Clarkson said "better than sex" - er... not quite). Petrol was about 15p/litre.
5. Vauxhall Cavalier - sensible family car on return to UK, 1995 (baby on the way). Best thrill was driving from Oxford to Toulouse on a single tank! (60 L diesel).
6. Vauxhall Astra
7. BMW 320D - Belgium 2005
On order: Freelander HSE TD4e (needing more room as kids become teenagers - and nostalgic for the off-roading in Oman)

Not very loyal to any car ompany as well and trying Landrover for the first time::

LR FL2 (since 2008)
NISSAN X-TRail (2005)
NISSAN Terrano II (2000)
Opel Frontera (1995)
VW Golf (1989)

Good to see a fellow Lotus addict. Which one did you like best?

I forgot to add 1963 Lotus Elan S1 to my list but then we never got it on the road. Bought as a wreck for £400. rebulit the engine for my plus 2 and sold the car for £4750. Wish I'd found one or two more Thumbs Up He who dies with the most tools wins!
