Have to say, some of the comments on Twwatter regarding it are hilarious! The PR Director has made himself look a bit of a tit as well......

In the picture it says STOP on the brake pedal. Presumably that's to meet H&S safety regulations. Can't see if it says GO on the other one. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Ah its all over the place now so hardly a big secret any more - and might well be fake anyway..

For what it's worth think this looks OK - bit of a weird mix of high tech and utility but guess that's the way things are now anyway.

Like the 'STOP' & 'GO' on the pedals......... Rolling with laughter

This IMHO is a joke.

Its not the one I have seen Whistle

edit : dorset just posted before me .....

Claims this rendering is what the Defender looks like under the camouflage.

Personally, I hope not. Especially if this paragraph has any credence.

"Let’s face it – the new Defender is going to be an all-new product and the British marque has already admitted it will try to attract new customers to the brand. Basically, this means the design won’t be as rugged as the original Defender and will instead future styling cues from the rest of Land Rover’s models."

If it is correct, JLR will have proved again that up-market expensive soft roaders are all they are interested in . Ultimately this will lead to their inevitable downfall.

Don’t think it will be too far away to be honest.

LR haven’t hid the fact that this car has to sell there for will be a far cry from the original car and will feature all the latest tech. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

A bloke in a pub showed me a picture of what it will be based on. Not just off road but off planet. Note the AWD and absence of a rear diff for reliability reasons.

Yeah, every company in the last 10 years that has thrown it's customer base under the bus in a hubristic effort to 'attract new customers' has failed to understand one thing. The only people who can attract new customers is the fanboys. Morgan and Lotus do this very well, IMHO. (I could be wrong) 2013 SE TD4 in Mauritius Blue [Written off]

Is it a 'Spy Shot' ?

or are JLR giving the public another taster to say "we are actually getting on with it"

Expect more of these snippets each month until the unveiling in March 2020. When we will all have 2020 Vision, Thumbs Up

The prototypes here in the uk potter along quite regularly between Gaydon and Whitley now...see them quite often.

On the subject of the Defender, and in particular the Ineos Projekt Grenadier, you will be pleased to know that they will be utilising BMW engines.
