That time of year again. I phoned a couple of independent service places in Glasgow, one was too cheap to be true (£250 + £45 for mot) , the other one came to £460 including mot.
With this info I called the dealer that I bought the car from (Morrisons in Stirling) they started off at £545 for the service and 1/2 price mot @ £28 .. after some smooth talking I got the price down to £463 + mot . Called my local Taggerts and they wanted £537 + £54 for the mot . Obviously I said no thanks as I can get it done for £100 cheaper he said I’ll speak to the manager .. he came back and priced matched Morrisons.. service and mot for £491  Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Knowing main dealers they will not change the oil & fuel filter just drop the oil & change the air filter far better to buy the service kit + oil & do it yourself then you know it’s been done

That's a bit of a sweeping statement, they may be expensive but to say they are all totally dishonest between what is on the invoice and what has been done.
