Interior Mirror - How to re-fit

After clumsily knocking my interior mirror off can someone advise me on how to refit it ?

I just cant get enough pressure on the mirror shaft (I've removed the plastic surround) to enable the three sided metal 'spring' to clip over the bolt head secured to the windscreen. Even a dollop of fairy liquid hasn't helped to ease it on.

I've been trying for hours now with no luck, so please, can anyone help Question cheers,

OK, will reply to my own thread as i worked it out but may help others...

The trick is to twist it on anti-clockwise.

I removed the plastic cover but left the connector plug in place . Offer up the casting to the windscreen bolt at about "1 o'clock" and then press it very firmly whilst twisting the casting anti-clockwise whereby it should clip onto the bolt and stay in place. Replace the two halves of the plastic covering and job done.

Easy when you know how Whistle cheers,
