Condensation

After my 10 yr service ( belts etc) + discs and pads all round (together with a bill for almost 2k...) I had the sunroof mechanism and rails renewed under LR Extended warranty following it's malfunctioning. Now the rainy season's here in darkest Cornwall (lasts longer each year) I keep getting a large patch of condensation on the windscreen just over the passenger side heater vent area The size and density of the condensation - usually after the car's been standing - can be warm or cold - is reminiscent of those old bangers of my youth which leaked - everywhere...

I've felt the front carpet wells and no sign of water ingress (the car's usually parked nose down on a slope) so would expect any water to "pool" somewhere in the front if it was the sunroof leaking. Have had the FL since 2011 and it has never had any problem with internal damp. Anybody got any ideas? It would be nice to have information from learned sources before I shout at the LR garage.

Just a thought have you checked the plastic trim In front of the screen to see if the drain holes are blocked up ?

Thanks SYFL2... no, no blockages but thanks for the thought. Was wondering if there were any concealed filter areas / air-con sensitive bits that were under the dash near the spot where it fogs? Loath to tamper with the dashboard as I had to have it replaced last year after a front to back 10" split appeared over the passenger airbag area - (LR £500 "goodwill gesture" - + my £500 to fix) I love this old truck, but it's a bit like an old house, it sucks money.

Condensing with AC on or off ? The AC drain pipe under the central console gets blocked and that is a good starting point to stop condensing. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Good point Yorky Bob - and thanks.

I've noticed recently that it does it whether AC on or off - was beginning (i.e. today's journey) to wonder if AC had stopped working and was considering a garage visit to check. Had the system regassed about 18 months ago so it shouldn't need another go (and another £75) yet I hope. Will follow up suggestion and check pipe (providing I can access it).

Your advice was right on the button Yorky Bob...accessed the AC rubber drain via the footwell, all still connected, but a few squeezes while the AC was on it's coldest setting and running full bore and, voila, a sudden flood of water released for the drain, a dropping AC noise, normal draining resumed, and matter sorted. Thanks!
