In reply to heyho.

I've flown from LBA a few times and never cease to be amused by all the pictures on the walls of international destinations that they don't fly to.Cant get my head around that one. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

I went thru LBA recently andas a yorkshireman was embarrassed by it, to get to the plane we had to queue up some stairs round by the porters back office then down and along a wierd glass corridor.

still its better than Stanstead that place is awful.

LBA used to be a straightforward simple place, nice because of its simplicity.

I once flew into there as a kid, in the days when a tractor and trailer brought the luggage from the plane and backed up to a 'special' door to offload the bags.

worst airport experience, Geneva, delayed there for hours and the 'shopkeeper' swiss cram every corner with watch shop, no room for weary passengers to crash out.
I bought a tissot watch from one of the shops it broke down immediately, I walked back to the shop to be told I had to post the watch to the service center to get an exchange Rolling Eyes , Anyway after much arguing they replaced it in the airport, still got it 20 years later still works Thumbs Up

I needed a new watch after an incident Meribel involving tequila icy pavements and stupidity Whistle a At work

England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Zermatt Silver

A few weeks ago I was at Leeds Bradford waiting for the 08:10 connecting flight to Dublin (and then on to New York at 10:50). At 7:30 the display said something like 'delayed'. There was absolutely no-one from either the airline company (Aer Lingus) or LBA around to help us. 08:10 came and went. So did 09:10 and then finally we got the flight at 09:40. That meant we missed the New York flight and had a 7.5 hour delay at Dublin.

Oh and our bags went missing as well. Had to pop into Macy's to buy a couple of pairs of cheap undies and socks which in Macys isn't easy to do Rolling with laughter

never had a problem with LBA myself, flights on time, staff were polite enough when a mate sat on the conveyor belt and had a ride round in to the airside part of the airport luggage belt. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

LBA is woeful . No public transport to or from Leeds or Bradford that is fit for purpose . Parking is miserable. Inbound passport control is a joke if two flights have landed at once, and God forbid you land 5 minutes after a big flight like Air Pakistan. The airport is on the top of a hill and is at the mercy of crosswinds and fog. Then throw in the pitifully inadequate facilities airside and you have the perfect place to start your journey...

I used sentinel car park 5 minute from LBA airport. very efficient. no waiting for buses at all. they bring your car to there of site reception ready for you to drive away.

Agree about Sentinel - really good. Full marks there.

Agree about that Pakistan flight as well. Came in behind that once and the whole airport was on lock down.
