Roof rail plastic end cap fell off. Best way to replace?

Has anyone had to deal with replacing one of the plastic end caps on the roof rails? Mine fell off at highway speeds, didn't have the opportunity to attempt locating and recovering it.

Anyone have a part # for it? Also, my local dealer claims any accessories purchased at time of vehicle purchase also share the 4/50 new car warranty. Should I even bother taking it to the dealer to see if they'll replace it? Thanks in advance for your help!

Is this the front of the roof rail you mean? Where it curves down and joins the windscreen? If so the same thing happened to me. It goes in on Monday for some other things and I plan to mention this to them. I'll try to get a part number if its the part you need.

Nope, it's the rear on the driver (left in the USA) side.

if they was fitted at purchase by the dealer then , they are covered by the full warranty (at least in the UK they are)

Its looks to be there problem

if not, then contact Nick Lee (The Parts Manager), at Yeovil Landrover, if the parts available separatly, he'll get it for you Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Same problem here. I talked to the dealer and it looked like the only way to order that piece was as part of a 'kit' of parts. As I recall they quoted me ~$150 for the kit. Too bad we are both missing the driver's side (US), otherwise we might have been able to split the cost... Greg East

Yeah, that's sucks we're both missing the same part. Do you have a part # for the kit. DAPinc usually can order LR genuine parts for a decent price. My dealer warranties LR kit bought at purchase, but i think the warranty only counts to kit they install. I still need to ask them I guess...

Sorry, no part #. I need to check with Rocklin Land Rover, they're usually pretty good on price as well. https://landrover.niello.com/partscatalog.php Greg East

UPDATE: I finally got the plastic end cap replaced. I brought the LR2 in for service last month and mentioned to the service writer about the missing cap and requested warranty replacement. They balked at first but quickly came around and worked to get me a replacement. They ended up having to consult with a LRNA field engineer to get the parts separately from the complete roof-rail kit, but they finally came in, and I installed it this morning.

I'll update on quality & fit when it arrives. Nice that you can buy them individually though.

Yep. Arrived today and, as you say, fits & looks fine. Nice to have pattern parts of these end caps available singularly and at a reasonable price.

LR OEM Roof Rack Installation Kit

Interesting that so many left rear end caps "fly" off.. Lost mine last autumn / fall, ended up purchasing the LR Installation kit PN # LR006610 , just to get the one end cap.... which in the middle of a cold Edmonton, Canada freeze went walk about once again.. Censored

So I have the following bits if anyone is interested in a buy / sell / trade

Front Right and Left end cap
Rear Right end cap
Bag of mounting pins and spacers (unopened)
Left & Right Middle Supports caps
Cross member underside caps
Rubber seals for the mounting points

I am again now looking for a Left Rear end cap.... this time plenty of extra sticky stuff will be applied. Nick Ward
