United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Sumatra Black
Parking Sensor query

Hi All
New to this forum. Been lurking on D4.com and have now bought SWMBO a MY11 HSE which I'm really impressed with.
One thing I have noticed is that there doesn't appear to be a manual activation/override switch for the parking sensors near the hazard flasher switch as per the manual and others I've driven? My Disco has one and believe it operates identically.
I would have thought that the HSE had these sensors as standard and won't have been retro fitted.
The car is a manual gearbox if that make any difference??
Any ideas what has happened here or am I having a blond moment and looking in the wrong place?

Cheers in advance for your help

I might be wrong, but I think if there are front and rear sensors fitted, then there is a switch to cancel the parking sensors.
Only rear fitted, no switch. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Hi Daveyboy

Ive got a 2011 HSE with front & rear sensors AND a switch. Mines an auto but other than that its exactly same spec / year as yours I would have thought.

Have you got something in place of the switch? Post a photo, that might help solve the problem LR Freelander 2 2014 metropolis SD4 auto in Loire Blue.

Only answer I can give, is there should be a switch to disable the sensors if you have front and backs fitted and working Confused

I'm just outside of Hull, will look out for a similar black of your year Thumbs Up

I have the 2012 HSE SD and there is a cancel switch for the front only, (I think, never checked to see if the rears cancelled) Fronts are engaged when selecting slowly through reverse with the auto, switch is on the far left on the row below the nav screen. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Wonder how easy it would be to take a look under the switch array to see if there is a loom for the parking override?

I thought they went where you have your 'ECO' button. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Present: Audi A3 S Line.

The order of the buttons is different on mine (and in the handbook) - reading from the left there's the parking sensor button (small), unlock (small), hazard (large) and lock (large). The eco button is down with the rest of the climate control switches.

What does your climate control panel look like?

If both front and back work, then I would guess someone has replaced the switch pack with the wrong one for whatever reason, the switch is normally on the far left and more than likely the plug is behind it. There's no doubting you should have it. Confused

Your climate control panel is slightly different too - where I (and the manual) have the Econ button you have one laballed A/C. Is that something different, or just a different label on another Econ button?
