Can anyone tell me how to get the land rover logo on my just purchased garmin 2797 sat nav.

I managed to do it on a Garmin I purchased a couple of years by saving a LR logo to my laptop and then connecting the Garmin and uploading it. Sorry I can't be more specific but it is possible. - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.
- GCS Hawke - Sports, BRG, Vulcan 2.1 inj'. My toy - built it myself in 2001.

When you start a Garmin GPS receiver, the Garmin company logo appears on the screen while the device boots. One method of customizing many Garmin GPS units is to change the boot picture to a personal image downloaded to the device. Garmin GPS receivers support JPEG images that you transfer to the device from a computer. Only Garmin receivers that have the Picture Viewer software can change the boot picture.

Step 1
Plug the mini-USB end of the USB cable into the Garmin GPS and the USB end of the cable into a USB port on a computer.

Step 2
Click the Windows "Start" button, select "Computer" and double-click the "Garmin" drive.

Step 3
Double-click the "JPEG" drive to see a list of the images on your Garmin device.

Step 4
Drag the image from the computer that you want to use as the boot picture and drop it in the JPEG window.

Step 5
Click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray and select "Eject Garmin." Unplug the GPS when "Safe to Remove Hardware" appears on the screen.

Step 6
Turn on the Garmin GPS, select "Tools" and click "Picture Viewer." A thumbnail list of the images stored on the device will appear.

Step 7
Tap the thumbnail of the image you want to use as the boot picture and tap the "i" symbol on the toolbar.

Step 8
Tap the "Display at power on" option.


Works only on Garmin Devices with Picture Viewer Software.

It looks like the 2797 has no picture viewer.

Sorry but it isn't possible to modify the splash screen on the Garmin 2797 as it has a instant on setting.
