Roofbars to fit Disco Sport without rails

Hi,
apologies if this has already been asked but I cant find it... We are changing to a Disco Sport without roof rails and I'm finding conflicting information with regards a roof bar system that will fit. I have the Thule Aero Bars which I'd like to continue using but cant seem to find a foot pack that fits.

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

Cheers

think you need the rails, and they cost from 372, so not cheap.

on the plus side, they look great, and are a easy diy fit.

Cheers for that - I was afraid that it may be the case of having to have rails... Have you fitted your own then? I'm away at work and planning what to do so without the vehicle in front of me I cant see what is there. Is it a case of removing a trim strip and drilling through to expose the fixing point or is there more to it?

Cheers

disco sport roof rails are very easy to fit. ( I did mine in well under an hour)
there are 2 types - those with the panoramic roof, and those without
if you dont have the pano roof, its costs more as you need to buy a finishing kit for the roof.
basically you have to remove the trim from the roof that covers the gully on each side, if you dont have a pano roof this trim is long, and will be replaced by a new shorter part in the middle of the gully, and the roof rails attach to the exposed gully space left. This short piece of trim is called a finished and costs nearly £200.

Perhaps if this was posted on the Disco Sport forum it may have a chance of picking up, as it's pretty dead over there.

Would you be looking to sell the clamp style bars for the freelander?

I'm hoping that I can sort out a foot pack in due course as they fit my bike carrier and are also slightly oversize to carry a boat. If I do sell them though I'll be sure to post an advert on here>
