Making the main beam HID ?

Thinking on giving my FL2 a makeover and removing my HID spotlights (and other stuff).
But they are phenomenal and I'll really miss the power.
So was wondering, if I remove the ballast etc from them, can I splice this into the circuit of my main beam ?
Would this work or would I need different bulbs (and if so, would any be available that incorporate the std dipped element)?
Or indeed even if I can get them to work, would this throw up "errors".
Any advise appreciated. Thumbs Up FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

You might be able to cobble something together, but as with any HID retrofit, it's not a perfect match anyway.

The biggest issue though, is that you have, IIRC, genuine spot beam lamps, and HID ones at that too, so I think you would hugely miss that if you removed them. Increasing the brightness of the standard lights is no substitute for a proper narrow beam, and your lamps will be giving very good throw. Thumbs Up Freelander 2 2007 TD4 Manual HSE Tambora Flame
