sat nav

Hi Guys
Just wondered if any of you have fitted one of the sat navs available on ebay?
One comes with a speaker for under the grill above cubby box.

Any thoughts guys.
These look like plug and play,i'm not too sure about cutting wires and stuff.
Don't want to cause a fire in my pride and joy.
one sat nav has a dvd function, another comes with the small speaker under the grill above cubby box.
Does seem a little expensive but maybe just plug and go.

Check out my post ref the Tomtom sat nav. Quite easy to fit and looks really good. In my opinion it's the best sat nav on the market with free up dates for life. It's got live traffic updates via it's own built in sim so need to link to a mobile phone like some. Paid £250 for mine but they do pop up on offer time to time. Fitting took a couple of hours as I was being extra careful and as you said I didn't want to spoil my pride and joy. The best thing is that if you decide to sell the car or want to put the cubbyhole back in you can as you don't alter anything and no alterations needed. If you don't feel confident you can just run the wire round the back of the dash and plug in to the cigarette lighter. I hard wired mine in and really pleased with the result. You can even speak to it rather that have to touch the screen. Best sat nav I have ever had.

I have a Tom tom start 60 which I installed thanks to this forum a few years ago. The one thing that I find annoying is the map updates Censored crashes when installing the latest map but persistence and time always wins that's if I haven't smashed the sat navy screen first in frustration. Laughing

I still can't believe anyone hasn't installed one of the sat nav's for sale on ebay.
I am tempted but £500 is a bit steep, but they do say plug and play.
Thoughts guys.

Why pay £500 when you can pay £250 and get what I think is the best sat nav on the market with traffic, cameras and map updates fee for life. I put the TomTom 6100 installed in the cubbyhole.

England

is there a cubby hole instead when factory GPS is not installed?

Thinking of fitting a rear cam to my factory GPS, but looking at cost of interface would get more features by changing out the standard sat nav, and get camera interface as well.

Anyone swapped out that mod?
