update Bluetooth module

Hello

I bought a new mobile phone, a Vodafone Ultra 6.
It turns out that the Freelander 2, the mobile phone is detected and detects the car, and even reaches match. But after communication is lost.
I went to the vodafone store and they told me that I have to update the bluetooth module car.

It is possible?

best regards

It would probably depend on the age of your car. Older ones may have updates available which would have to be done via a dealer or an independent garage with the right kit and software. Not something you can do yourself though. Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental

Hello.
Thanks!
My FL2 is from 2007.
So maybe there is an update that can be made.
Have to talk to the dealer.
Thanks.

At that age I would assume there have been improvements, but I guess it also depends if the hardware can handle it. Learned to drive in 2011.

With Iphone 4S and Huawei P7 it works fine.
It is just with this new Vodafone Smart Ultra 6.
But bluetooth is the same v4.0, A2DP.

The cost of an update may be more than the cost of a new, different phone. Learned to drive in 2011.

Did you get this resolved? I have the exact same issue also with a Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 and also an HTC One M8. I have written to LR and will advise

Hello.
I had no luck.
Talked about it at the dealer here in my city but they told me that if i wanted the pair my smartphone, the update i have to make was change the fl2 with the discovery sport! Smile
I liked the idea, but... no can do!

Joao,

I have fixed this issue and my Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 works great in my 2007 car.

I simply replaced the module with a later one - bought on ebay - and all was good. The later ones are listed in this thread

https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic23386.html

As a back up, I also purchased an SOT lead that fits round the amplifier and enables you to install a parrot. Both methods will work.

My dealer was also useless as were LandRover themselves, luckily this forum was great
