Headlights with DRL

Hi,

I just bought these headlights (see photograph) and I was wondering if I need any sort of controller to for the DRL to work?
I know I will have to re-wire them but I'm not sure if there should be a controller in line somewhere.
They are to replace my HID xenon headlights that are currently fitted and they have what looks to be a controller on the bottom?
I have tried plugging the lights into the car and the DRL comes on when the engine is running but the headlight beam or indicators do not work.
Anybody have any information they can share?

Thank you!

They are not UK spec lights as you have an amber reflector that is fitted for the LHD vehicles. The UK spec lights are fitted with a clear or the later black reflector in the headlights. However when we drive abroad we do not need headlamp beam reflectors fitted as the lamps are built to comply with driving on the other side of the road.

I would imagine that you will be ok in the UK but the beam speard will not be as good if they were a UK spec. However I would take them to an MOT centre and have them look at beam spread. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Ah, I didn't realise that!

Would it be possible to swap the HID's out of my old headlights and put them is these?

Also, do this type of headlights not have main beams?
Any idea if I will need to get additional adapters/ controllers to get them to work?
There is an LED circuit board inside the headlight unit - I'm assuming that this is the controller for the DRL?

The main and dip beam use the same bulb but have a shutter that masks of part of the bulb for dip.

to fit these lamps in your 07 model will require some work plenty of info here if you search. But basically you need a DRL controller, a power supply that only allows DRLs to be powered on when engine is running and loom adapters as wiring pins are different. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)
