Mine have been on for two weeks, just after the first frost we had. Since then most of the time it's been at least 10 degrees.

One of my friends bought an ice axe and crampons a couple of years ago and have we seen snow since then? No. Will it be worth the winter wheels and tyres, I wait and see.

Yuk! Clip-on balancing weights on the outside of an alloy wheel. Wouldn't be allowed in any tyre shop I know. Rolling Eyes Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

The 2010 XS came with those wheels from the factory and the weights were clipped on the outer rim as the photo.
Most of the FL wheels dont have a lip to allow them to do that which is why they stick them inboard out of view, its just that type of wheel in the photo they do it on.
Bad idea on alloys and corrosion gets behind them and it looks an eyesore once new weights are put on elsewhere next time.

Two years ago I bought my second FL2 (MY11, only done 7250 miles) and the wheel weights are on the outer rim.
Tyres are Goodyear Wrangler so I presume the original tyres. If so, the vehicle must have been delivered with the weights in this position. Does it make any difference as to where they are fitted or is it just cosmetis? 11 GS Bali Blue

Just cosmetic. You buy alloys mainly for the looks so I can't understand why some tyre shops put weights on the outside of an alloy rim. Well, I can - they're either lazy or incompetent. You always put the weights on the inside of the rim with either stick-on/clip-on weights or a combination of both. All wheel balancing machines have a programme for doing that. Most also have a 'hidden weight' programme so that the stick-on weights are placed behind the spokes and are unable to be seen through the wheel. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
