Been a while Fishy!

NAr they didnt say a hole lot, it was weird. However neither the Xtrail, Rav 4 or Subura preformed well. The traction technology was worst than my ute! Whistle

The Rav 4 got a hammering on the dunes, but stayed in my piece. besides that the test drive was average.

I hope thye do a FL2 vs X3 vs Volvo or something with the Freelander. From the You tube vids i have seen the FL2 technology is second to none.

Anyway Top Gear Australia is available to download.

Hi guys,

I watched Top gear, thought it was okay. Fishy, search on Youtube it's on there.

The X-trail did reasonable I thought, it was the only one of the three that didn't get bogged, or slip down the slope. They had the CVT petrol version, which isn't that great for offroading. The Rav was the V6 version, while the other two were 4's. I can tell you the Forrester fans are very upset with the way the Forrester was portrayed, they all think a XT turbo should have been used. They damaged the front end of that Rav after getting it airbourne.

The idiot driving the X-trail didn't turn the ESP off, which is why the engine kept losing power.

I picked my X-trail TL diesel up the other day, and I'm pretty happy with it. Nice to drive, and is returning about 7.5lt per 100km. Thumbs Up Styling is growing on me slowly.

Would have loved the FL2, but it wasn't to be. But to make it worse, Carsales emailed me an auto alert for a demo Td4, white, $50K driveaway, the day after I picked up my X-trail. Evil or Very Mad

Cheers,

Chris.

Hey Guys...

I have atleast 2 weeks before i get my baby! Cool

So the Xtrail is good? any regrets?

The Xtrail was the best out of the 3. Atleast it could make it up hill.

Not too much longer then! Thumbs Up

Yeah the X-trail is great, but I still have some regrets, as I would have preferred the FL2. Styling on the FL2, as well as the ride is second to none in the class. Still the 8K we saved is a trip to NZ for 3 weeks, so that reduces the pain somewhat!

I'm currently trying to talk the misses into letting me upgrade the sound system and add in a sat nav... we'll see;)

Cheers,

Chris.

From the commentary they were giving it sounds like they did turn the ESP off but like a lot of cars you can't quite kill it completely.

I thought the X-trail performed OK, I was surprised by the Forrester and the Rav. Both of them seemed to sit there spinning their wheels with TC doing nothing about it.

I did enjoy seeing the Rav flying thru the air tho.

And I know why they didn't do the FL2... cause they were showcasing soft-roaders! It would be unfair to compare the Freebie to a Rav 4. 2007 TD4 SE

Yeah fair point... but atleast you could see how a bit of extra money is worth it.... Thumbs Up

You are right about the wheels spinning... whats with that, i thought the subi would have excellent traction control. Hell no! Whistle
