2011 Freelander 2 i6 SE Auto Santorini Black

Modernise the inside cabin

Hi Guys

looking for any idea's/inspiration to make the inside of my 2011 FL2 more modern

I have done the gloss black steering wheel inserts, and the matching door handles (inside and out) but looking for any other ideas, specifically the centre/stereo area.

Here is a pic, not my car but close enough.. though I'm sure you know what it looks like

Depends how far you want to take it to modernise it, you could fit the dash and console out of a 2014 scrapper and then bask in the glory of an electronic handbrake too.
Adding little bits to the older style it will still look older style unless you go the whole hog i suppose?

Haha funny you should suggest that, I floated that question on here a year or so ago. Apparently it's not possible to retrofit the interior dash .. If only. 2011 black FL2

Depends how modern you want to go and what you consider as being modern.

Grand Black Lacquer (Piano Black) is very nice and adds some class instantly. I got the chrome gear surround and the sat nav front base finished in piano black.

Personally with the ebony/pimento interior I feel my car is as modern as a Freelander 2 could ever/will be.

Update. Pics hasn't loaded before I wrote this..

Thanks LRNUT. I agree, the pic I have inserted has the ebony interior but in actual fact I have the black (dark) leather so it is not as modern looking now as the cabin is very dark.

What did you finish the gps surround and gear surround in to make it gloss black? I've been looking at that.

Ps I'm talking 2011 model, yours is more modern already 2011 black FL2

Personally I think that the charm of the FL2 is the older tech! I have a 2011 with the facelift but without the newer dash and I actually think that it is personality lies in the clunkiness! The FL2 for me is a second car for messy jobs where my X5 is a bit of a tart, and I find stuf flike making a call on the phone easier on the FL2 than the X5 just cos its so functional! I'd say embrace the older tech!

Believe me - the FL2 is less trouble, easier to find a parking space for, the interior is harder wearing and just "does what it says on the tin" - if I had to choose ONE of them I'd choose a Disco4

Have a play with vinyl wrapping - it's easy to do non-permanent and you can be sure it's what you want before you commit to it. Loads of colours and designs available now - personally I like the carbon fibre stuff No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

People here simply can't estimate the gap on the near side of their car, thus they drive on the opposite side of the road, especially in local streets, hence the steering wheel is on the left! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
