Chinese tyres

Have bought an FL2 TD4 from local dealer (1 owner 43k miles) with 4 new tyres - Hifly Super 2000's.

Did not recognise brand and have just googled to find mixed reviews, including a couple of Aussie bad comments ref poor performance and early failures. Another says that the Hifly factory has been updated with state of the art manufacturing machinery and quality is now good.

Anyone had experience with Hifly tyres please? I have Bridgestones on second car and also used Firestone in recent years, have only driven FL2 on dry roads (this week) and will be taking it easy on wet until I have confidence - or have replaced them. Question

BY some accounts those tyres are ok, and the EURO sticker seems to agree

16" wheels were standard on early S models.
Problem with foreign tyres can be with the compound not being suitable for UK temperatures.

South Africa market (very hard compound)Genuine Pirelli fitted to a friends Sierra Cosworth made it almost undrivable in wet.
He got them cheap. Cost him dear!!! All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

My wife used to have 16's on hers, until I upgraded them to 18's around 3 years ago. They were conti's fitted as standard. Make sure your cheap brand are of the correct speed rating. Think should be H or above. Some of the cheaper tyres for your size were T rated. Too low.
18" tyres seem as cheap as 17's. When I looked into it.
Although 16's felt like a sofa Laughing Loads of meat on them. Landy has now gone.
