Long Journey Battery- Powered down Electronics

I was on my way home yesterday from Loch Lomond at around the 5hr mark

My kids complained the Rosen Headrest TV had just suddenly turned off, at the same time my Blackvue did the same and rebooted, but rebooted again when the kids tried to switch on the TV's

The TV's and the Blackvue are powered via the blackvue's power magic, which is set to turn off after an hour of the engine been switched off or if the power level drops below 11.4v (might be 11.8v)

I was towing a caravan at the time, caravan fridge on the 12v setting, Al-ko ATC trailer system, no phones plugged in, no lights on, other than DRL's and no 12v Fridge switched on in the boot.

Unfortunately i didn't have to hand my cigar plug in Volt meter, but im a bit puzzles by the sudden drop in power as on the way up to Loch Lomond i had phones (charged via cigar socket) and the fridge been powered via a perm live from the boot also

so is it one of those niggles that LR give, a random sudden drop in power, the alternator stopping charging the battery or a sudden draw on the 12v system causing the power magic to drop out Question Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

May be worth checking that the battery terminals are tight. I had a dead motor the morning after a longish trouble free evening drive - one of the terminals was loose, so I suspect it was not charging but had been running fine and was ok after a jump start.

Just a thought ... the car has a 'clever charging' system, is it possible that once the battery is full, the alternator stops charging it until it has dropped to a lower level were it will re commence charging, during this time the car has been running on battery and the Power magic has detected this and shut off?

Did you notice a loss in engine power, the Power Magic is linked to engine chip enhancements. Wink p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior
