What differences are there between a 14MY Lux and a 15MY Metropolis? Was it more of a badge change than any major add or mod?

From what I can see, tyre pressure monitor added, name change with badge and a bit cheaper than the LUX by £5k. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green
MY57 SE Stornoway Grey. Gone
Nissan X Trail
Discovery V8 LPG
Series II Land Rover

United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Loire Blue

These are the official Land Rover Press Releases:

Metropolis
HSE Luxury

There were a few bits and bobs left in the options bin that they threw on the Metropolis, but the main thing seems to be a drop in the RRP, so the Metropolis was cheaper to buy new.

Thanks... The description if the Metropolis describes my Lux to a tee.... The Lux blurb suggests an 'HSE Luxury' ingot style rear badge but never seen one (except on RR).

As you say, mainly the price.

But did it come out of the factory thus badged? Laughing

The lack of anything to visually distinguish the HSE Lux from the "bog standard" HSE was one of the reasons why I went for the Metro. Does that make me a badge snob? Embarassed

Mine is unique, it came from the factory with Standard Piano black trim on the passenger side and optional dark chestnut on the drivers, maybe it needs a Mongrel badge Laughing

Nothing wrong with a little badge snobbery Thumbs Up

Seems a strange decision by LR... Especially in the UK where we can be (are) a bit badge conscious.

Yes but you don't scratch the sill finishers.

Just took delivery of mine last Thursday. Less than a year old with 8.8k on the clock. In Zanzibar I hasten to add, a colour that looks better in the flesh than ever it does in a Photo. So far I have the following issues:-
Lumbar adjustment inop,
Drivers seat creeps sometimes when you hit the stop button.
No upload option on the stereo??
Gearbox software has a glitch. At 30mph if you gradually feed in the power, you get the engine revving its bits off with no corresponding output from the gearbox...very strange.

Other than that, drives nice and goes better than the D3 it replaced.

That's a gorgeous colour Thumbs Up

Lumbar adjustment - try it without sitting in the seat, mine seems vague a times but definitely works.

Go to my music and then stored CD's it will let you upload them from there.

When you hit stop the seat may drop if the easy entry/exit option is turned on, it should raise again when you get in.

Gearbox, odd, although mine seems to have a mind of its own at times, it has a neutral position when coasting and yours seems to be going into that mode?

Keep us informed how you get on

Paul

Lumbar adjustment in-op

I had the same problem with mine. Had it replaced under warranty without any questions. It seems to be an inflatable "bag" rather than a moving pad so you'll hear whirring when you in inflate it (presumably the pump) but will hear nothing as it deflates.

With a CD inserted, go into My Media and there will be options to upload the CD. It does take quite a few minutes as the CDs are uploaded in uncompressed format.
