Hi again folks,

I'm looking to buy a tow bar mounted bike carrier, for 4 bikes. Currently looking at the Buzz Rack Quattro (£245). Does anyone have any experience of this carrier with a FL2? The company can't tell me whether the tilting mechanism works with the Freelander or whether the tail gate gets in the way.

Any advice appreciated as always.

Don't know about that one but the atera strada dl works well on the fl2. Good bit of kit.

Price looks good. Looks like a close call if the boot will clear. One observation to me is the handlebars of the bike will sit close to the rear window, especially if carrying a wide Mtb handlebarred bike, and the fl2 is more upright at the rear end than the crv they use in the photos. Could clash.

Altera strada tried and tested on land rovers. If you can stretch the extra £100plus for that then do so. It's bombproof.

Which I can stand on the end of and its rock solid - couldn't recommend it too highly! You just need to watch the ends of the bar close to the rear window, but I tend to swap the bikes around to suit, or use the supplied clamp at the side of the stay instead of the top to pull it forward a little...

And even with my bike on it, with the bars that are only a cm or so from the galss, with the tilt you can open the tailgate ok! 2000 Xei 1.8 gone

Thanks for that simong. So the one you have doesn't actually tilt but you've managed to still open the tailgate with bikes attached?

It does tilt - no way would you open up otherwise!

A friend of mine has the same for his Disco and is really pleased too...
