hi every one just bought my 1st freelander td4e must say its lovley to drive.take it to have towbar fitted tomorrow going to tow my caravan hope it performs as people have told me it do,s towing ,i have all faith in her.her mate is a disco td5 used for green lanes.people have asked why buy a freelander for towing when you have a td5; it was the other halves choice Very Happy

I'm new to the forum thought I'd say hello, I've just bought a Freelander 2 HSE 2007 and waiting to pick it up as it needs a rear wheel bearing doing and valeting.

Scotland 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Fuji White

Hi All,

Just joined as I'm picking my first Freelander up on Monday! I have been a member of this site's sister-forums (Disco3 and Defender) as I've had both. Downsizing from a Disco 3 to reduce costs (plus it's starting to show some dodgy problems).

New (to me) Freelander is a 2010 TD4 S Manual in Fuji White. Looking forward to it. Dealer is 200 miles south from me in Fife, so I'll have a nice run through the Cairngorms on the A9 to fall in love with it (hopefully)! Very Happy

Had 5 Discos, a Defender Utility Wagon and a Series 3, so no stranger to Land Rovers.

Freelander caught my eye in Botswana when I saw one pottering about in Moremi Game Reserve like it owned the place. I followed it through a river crossing in my (hired) Ford Ranger. I got stuck. The Freelander didn't. 'Nuf said?

My official hello!

After 10 Freelander 1's throughout the years, the wife finally gave in, and let me buy a Disco 3, providing I stopped buying Freelander 1's.
That didn't happen, and I had another 4 Freelanders, with the latest one being hers, though she did let me keep mine.

There will be a magazine feature on this car in the next few months, in LROi. She didn't really have a choice! Whistle


Anyway, we decided to sell her FL1 TD4 after we were made an offer we couldn't turn down, and get her a Freelander 2 to replace it with
After looking at a few locally, they all had various issues I wasn't happy with, so we ended up with a 10MY/59 reg GS, for a bargain price!
She loves it, so I am in the good books for the next few weeks!



Will be looking for a set of 19" wheels, and Xenons or Signature lamps in the near future

Hello I'm Jay from Thame in Oxfordshire. Bought my 57 plate FL2 XS TD4 Auto in Zermatt Silver a couple of days ago. The first 300 miles in it have been awesome. It seems to be just what I wanted. Surprised in the way it drives as it came with 19" alloys and I was expecting it to be harsh. Gonna spend the next few days reading through all the info on here......
