I am curious that if the k455 is ok why the need for k 631? Is it because flushed bar must use k631?
@ Jules: I refer to fit roof bars when needed. Roof rails with cross bar will certainly have more wind noise.

From my experience of having Factory Rood Rails I can only hear wind noice around the wing mirrors at any "warp" speed! So unless you intend on removing your wing mirrors there is none! There is when the rails are in place but these are easily stored in the boot in a very nice Rail Bag supplies by LR.
LR obviously went to a great deal of trouble to aerodynamically sculpture this cross bar as it also has deflectors underneath. I would only fit non OE bars if they weren't available.
Your choice!
As a person whom has used these roof rails to carry many long loads, having a rail to tie off against to prevent loads sliding off sideways, the rail itself is reason enought to go OE. You won't have this piece of mind with just a cross-rail setup.

LR did make reference to the Roll over bar feature in the 3 Door Freelander 1 but that was the "b" pilar incorporating the Moon/sun roofs structure !!!

This is my Skiguard 200. Surprisingly quiet until you hit a strong headwind!

@dunkley: Skiguard 200 isn't easily to find.

What is the size of the whispabar suitable for fl2? I guess the 105 cm or110 cm will fit? These are availbale:
85 cm
90 cm
95 cm
100 cm
105 cm
110 cm

PS: Rang roofbox.co.uk, they said the K455 isn't suitable for fl2 but you are welcome to buy and try. They adviced the 105 cm long whispabar but not sure as these bars is recommended with the K631 feet.

Hi PM - my Whispbars are 105cm.

Sorry about the Skiguard - not normally available in UK. Made in Norway and cost £££. Lucky enough to find mine s/h & almost unused on the 'bay after having seen them in Norway. From it's provenance it may well be the only one in UK. Never seen any Skiguard boxes outside Scandinavia except on Scandinavian reg cars....

NB: Roofbox seem to have changed their tune - previously, Whispbars for the FL2 were only available with the 455 foot for clamp mounting. When the 631 bolt-on foot was introduced in Australia, they said they would not stock it in UK. Now you can only get the 631!
