VW Golf GTI Mk V. Great car when it worked, although very hard ride. VW customer service terrible. FL2 completely different, obviously, but so far so good (3000 miles and no problems) Freelander 2 TD4 HSE auto Tonga Green/Alpaca

This thread has Changed.......

........It now appears to be a history list of cars owned, which is quite a bit more interesting because it gives more details into how we have evolved into being Land Rover owners Thumbs Up

If more members are intrested to contribute a full list of cars owned before choosing a FL2 then this thread will become more worthwhile Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Tambora Flame

ok then
Me -
Lada (Don't think it had a model - maybe 1200 ... or was it "skip")
Vauxhall Viva HC (Georgeous deep blue metallic but sadly 60mph flat out)
Old Ford Transit (company car - oh heady days) - wrote it off
Ford escort 1300L (with trailer to replace transit) 6 years and 100k miles, when it was 12 years old I spent a summer completely rebuilding it - chassis up - and then wrote it off Big Cry
Ford escort 1600GL - cheap and I had a lot of spare parts available (see above)
Ford Granada 2L - the escort's inner wing had collapsed and it was cheap at the auctions. Soon found out why Big Cry
Merc C220 - dream achieved- first car bought from an actual main dealer - loved that car.
Merc E240 - wanted a silky V6 and aircon - real guzzler though.
Merc E270cdi Power, luxury and economy - perfect.

Mrs
Mini (rustbucket - painted it pink, then couldn't get the carry cot in it so I ended up driving it Embarassed )
Astra (Could get the cot in that)
Rover Cabrio - leaked like a sieve
Audi A3 T sport - First ever new car
Audi A3 T sport - Lease ran out on the first one - also last ever new car
Jeep Cherokee 2.5 Crd (became horsey so the A3 didn't do it any more)
FL2 SE - nicest of the lot - first car the Mrs has had that I want to borrow. 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!

Ford Fiesta Flight
My first car, bought in 1998, a '92 low mileage model but I later had to get a re-furbed engine as the original was sh*gged Big Cry

Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec
The only car I have bought from new in 2000 & kept it for 6 years, 70k miles with no issues & I only lost £7k in the process Thumbs Up

Mazda RX8
Got an ex-demo with 3k on the clock, fantastic car with great performance/handling, but I could only afford to run it with my work fuel card...19mpg Big Cry

Freelander 2 XS
Picking it up on Friday...can't wait! Mr. Green
