I would suspect the DPF - certainly smelled it on mine before. |

If it is the brake, the wheel should be hot to touch compared to the others after a fast run 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

If your only smelling it by one wheel I suspect it's a brake related problem.

Is there any other signs for DPF regenerating? Have had this weird smell round the back of the car on occasions too that didn't smell particularly like brakes/clutch smell I'd normally associate with. |

I notice it more towards the front doors, the DPF is at its closest to you then.

I would go for the DPF, it always had me checking round all the wheels for binding brakes. |

I get the same smell on mine Nut, been underneath it, torch out, the lot! Never found anything so I put it down to the DPF as its not all the time and no pattern to it! 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

Definitely DPF. Usually occurs like you describe when DPF cleaning cycle starts when driving but does not complete the process before you come to a halt. |
