Fuel Guage

A couple of times recently the low fuel warning has come on as I've started the car and the guage showing empty and the warning light on.
On both occasions I knew I had at least a half full tank - after driving for 10 mins or so it rights itself but it is very annoying - next time I won't believe it and probably run out of fuel.

Anyone else experienced this? 2010 TD4 HSE Stornaway Grey Metalllic, all the bells n whistles

Had the same fault on my 07/57 plate, eventually it stopped working completely. I booked mine in last month for it looking at land rover repaired it as a good will gesture. All it needed was a fuel sender repair what is sappose to be a common fault.

I see yours is 2010. If you read through the link Taz has attached you will see I had the same problem in Nov 2013, and there was a software update that fixed the issue that was relevant to a small VIN range for 2010 vehicles. It's worth calling your dealer with your VIN to see if the error code is relevant to your vehicle. Might be a quick fix.

LTB00433 V2 is the fault code relevant to MY2010

My car had the same issue, it was sorted when the senders were re-wired. The issue you have to consider when driving with the fuel gauge showing zero is that the inboard ECU might shut the engine down as it thinks the car is out of fuel and it doesn't want to get air in the fuel system. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

On my 57plate FR2 the gauge dropped from 1/2 tank to zero. Dealer replaced the fuel pump/sender unit at a meggar cost to myself. They told me it was one unit and to get to it the tank had to be removed. Is that true as I see there was a inspection plate in the floor?
More recently on my 59plate FR2 the gauge dropped from 1/4 tank to 3 miles and the sat nav warned me to get fuel at the nearest petrol station 5 miles away! I turned the ignition off and back on and all was well Smile

As AD says, it's a tank out job. When my fuel gauge was playing up, my indy told me to run the tank as empty as possible as the tank is heavey when it's full of fuel. I had my fuel senders rewired, I was told the senders would be ok but that diesel corrodes the wiring joints, thus giving false readings on the fuel gauge. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
