Clip that back in place and you're good to go...

Thanks for your quick reply. Unfortunately ( I don't know if you can tell on the pic) but its distorted the shape andwhen I push it togetherit only goes so far then springs back out. I was wondering whether I could heat it and force it back into shape though. R. Simon

Just broken mine but much worse. If it's got a puddle light and memory etc... Your looking at £190 plus VAT for the part. It's simple enough to replace yourself if your able to use basic tools and are patient. Unfortunately the whole door card has to be removed to get at the bolts. I've done the drivers side before and now looks like I'm going to be doing the passenger side after the new year. Second hand units are available but still cost around £100 and most are badly marked. New for me unless I can find a mint one elsewhere .

It hasn't got the puddle lights. Just basic blackbody. I think i'll try the hot air technique tomorrow. Then if that doesn't work will go for the cheapest new one I can find and have a go myself. Got to be better than the £300 my dealer quoted. Thanks. R. Simon

it might be worth taking it off and stripping it down, you may find that something has "popped off" internally.

Forcing it back together might make it worse, and you never know it might be a simple fix once you get in there Wink

Try Dan@Duckworth Parts he'll source you a replacement that is right for your vehicle. He just needs your VIN to make sure he sends the right one. Certainly less than £300 from what I recall.

I got an O/S one from fleabay for £130 last week after someone took it out on a narrow lane.
It's for my 09 HSE so includes puddle light etc but He seems like a good guy and his number was on the site I had to call and ask if it was the correct one. He was really helpful. might have the one you need?

As for fitting. I'm going to attempt to tackle it this weekend. There are some really good detailed instructions on this forum.

Otherwise I guess any garage will quote you for fitting it it seems pretty straight forward. Door card off and three bolts (fingers crossed) But then I'm not that handy but can't afford to pay for someone else to do it so I'll give it my best shot.
Best of luck

My2011 XS had the mirror smashed by a driver who temporarily came into my side of the road on rainy night.

He said it was only a wing mirror. So i took photo of his reg and informed my insurers.
Next day in daylight i noticed the housing was cracked about 2 inches long.
Quote from LR garage to replace the whole Mirror and housing 220 quid without labour.

I have ask them to persue the driver through his insurance.

Labour i reckon will be about GBP 80 - 120.

If i coul dthink quicker i would have folded the mirrors in. Maybe this is a button they could put on the sterring wheel for emergencies.

Laughing I wouldn't class folding your mirrors in an 'emergency'

I hope you get the idiot though, it certainly shouldn't leave you out of pocket Thumbs Up

I changed the door mirror on the MIL's Fiesta a couple of days ago, her house moved as she reversed along the side of it, non Powerfold £96 inc Vat, didn't need the mirror cover, just as well as that would have been another £76, the days of its just a mirror don't worry about it are long gone.

Thanks Taztastic /Ad210358 ..will keep you posted once i hear back from the insurance.

Emergency no!! not really just so infurating, why i should have to fork out for someone else's bad driving.
..and to crack the housing you can imagine what sort of contact i.e. speed and closeness to my beloved FL2!.

no matter how many times i tell myself it's just a car and noone was hurt! little comfort. Neutral
