Yup, Midday sun, directly at the car-really bright, called in at my local dealers to be told, probably faulty mate-no Censored Sherlock! guess where I won't be going tomorrow, no names, as the last time I mentioned a dealers name got my face slapped!- however I will not be going to Chester!!!!!
It seems strange purplemadboy, that we both have metro's about the same age- (2 months or so) an today both had the same thing happen, Confused mysterious, will go to my friendly dealer and report back.
Thanks. Hit it he said, Hit it!--So I hit it, then he hit me---Doh!

Well, as I said, went along to my friendly dealer (Lights ok today as it happens)
they took it into the workshop and did various tests and confirmed all was OK, no worries that I didn't have an appointment or anything-happy to oblige and all that.
bizarrely today is very overcast and no direct "bright " sunlight like yesterday.
How is yours doing Purplemadboy? Hit it he said, Hit it!--So I hit it, then he hit me---Doh!

I'm pretty sure this topic came up last winter and possibly the one before as well.
It is not unusual for the automatic light sensor to be confused by winter sunshine even at midday when it is quite high in the sky and bring the lights on, equally it gets confused by fog and doesn't turn the lights on when you'd think it should.

Today's update,
All is well on the auto headlight front, did what they were supposed to do when I expected them to, must have been a glitch.
phew!!!! Laughing Hit it he said, Hit it!--So I hit it, then he hit me---Doh!
