It seems only mantec do any under body protectsion
No lift kits anywhere

2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Lago Grey

I had a look into this and due to the aforementioned cv joint geometry it was stated that 11mm was the thickest spacer that could be fitted to guarantee no damage to the cv joints on full movement of the suspension. I'll be going for a larger profile tyre next change and be done with that. Also the fuel tank mounting brackets/bars lose you another 10mm (even though the wheel arches are equidistant from ground) due to being forward of the rear wheels thus reducing the off ramp gradient or skipping albeit slightly, still a pita. A skid plate is probably your best option to save your fuel tank.

Thanks for the info yes I will be getting a mantec tank guard soon , My tank mountings are looking quite bent
Also I noticed that my hand brake lever does not pull up as much since my off roading

I think I remember reading about the 11mm spacer on the front to play absolutely safe but for that little gain I would say it's not worth the hassle. The guys I discussed with that were using the 20mm front spacer had covered tens of thousands of miles both on and off road with no ill effect anywhere on the drivetrain so it seems a reasonable risk to me for the benefit I am looking for off road and as I said I don't think it would be worth doing for less than 20mm front & 25mm rear.

I know there are people now running with 25mm spacers on the front of their FL2's but I'm happier with the 20mm personally.

20mm both ends is what I think I would do if I could find the spacers on line cheapish
As the cars g et older and cheaper hopefully they get used off road more.
And upgrade parts more readily available

cool, I'd go for 20mm spacers all round too in that case, save me chewing the plastic inner wing liners when turning by trying to get best achievable ride height via larger tyre profile

Anyone know of stronger springs in this country or lift spacers 20mm (suspension )
or under body protection not mantec ie cheaper
