Rear brake assembly & handbrake

Can anyone help me get a diagram of the rear disc/ pad / handbrake assembly please?
My hand brakes not been working brilliantly lately and when i went to check the discs I found the drum brake system inside the disc ( I couldn't get the disc off the hub)
Not seen this design before?
I hate drum brakes as I've always found then impossible to adjust correctly.
Will your average motor factors stock the parking brake part?

they shoulds stock the shoes £30 or 40 ish, LR £100 better to phone ahead I ended up having to get origonals as factors had non in stock and the car was in bits and needed fixing asap

standard drum brake type of thing adjuster is through the hole in drum face, you may need adjusters as they can seize . mine were ok, so not sure if you need LR parts or can get factor ones.

one tip is to use the handbrake quite regularly to slow the car so keeping the shoes drier and less likely to rot away At work

Many thanks for the replies gents.
I think I maybe couldn't get the discs off as I should have either backed off the cable tension or unwound the adjuster.

It's highly likely that either the adjusters or pivot have seized as CG suggested.
A bit of brute force will be needed to free the drum from the shoes. Giving the drum several taps with a hammer as you lever it off should help. You may even end up pulling off the shoes with the drum!
When buying new shoes, make sure you also get a new pivot which fits between the shoes. It doesn't move much, but a new one is the key to a good handbrake. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Rear brakes

Well I've had the off side rear disc off tonight ( backed off the adjust through the hole in the disc and a couple of taps with the mallet saw it come off .)
To be honest the internal shoes etc are fine and just needed a good clean out. The disc however is lipped on the inner and outer edge on both faces and when I stuck it in the lathe to skim it it was clear that there was corrosion under Neath the braking surface ( you know when the cast iron starts to come off in flakes that it's probably had it.) the disc is 11mm thick now and minimum thickness is 10mm so there's not much left.
So my question is how much would you expect to pay for a full set of discs and pads ( front and rear.)
Euro car parts quote the bosch discs at £50 each......! Are the cheaper discs ok?

I don't think much of the OEM discs; mine warped after 55k and I never sit with my foot on the brake after a stop.
So I bought non OEM. You can get bedding in problems, but my brakes have never been better Thumbs Up
Your handbrake still wont hold unless you get a new pivot. You wouldn't believe how important this is for a good handbrake Thumbs Up Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I had a lot of trouble with my rear brakes last year which was caused by seized pivots and very badly worn adjusters. I bit the bullet and replaced the disks with brembo disks and Frodo pads and fitted new pivots and adjusters.
Remember when adjusting the rear drums adjust until there locked then Back the adjusters off 8 turns or you will find that a drum will bind when warm.
