I will take a look at firmware versions both for freel and disco3 and will let you know. Does anybody knows what about Freelander 2013, does it activate auto?

They can't be the same as D3 is an 29 bit CAN car and FL2 is an 11 bit CAN car.
Even if it's the same hardware, the software is not interchangeable.

Does the part from software which controls auto-on on low speeds can be copied from disco3?

IF they use the same hardware, theoretically yes.
Practically, as long as you don't have the firmware's source codes, quite hard.
Because you will be working at assembly language level and if you need to relocate something, then it will become real hard. So you'll be better off...

Hi Alex,
Today I started to "play" with SDD Software.
The first thing I did was to change "Change consumption units" according to your instructions and it works just fine.
However I have a few questions about SDD Software that maybe can help other people too.

1) Recently I replaced the battery and I saw on service section a routine called "Battery Replacement". I run it. It claim to clear all the stored calibration data from the old battery. But when I run it shows FAILURE on SDD and a message saying to not try to run this routine again. Any idea why this happened?

2) I run the routine to "Read DTCs from all modules". After about 4 minutes and some beeps and messages from the instrument cluster it shows a lot of DTCs from all modules, but all are from the current milleage. So I guess that they are generated during the DTC reading. Is it normal?

3) Is it safe to clear all DTC codes?

4) On EXTRAS sections of SERVICES there is a "Configure Powertrain Module". Is it safe to run it?

Regards!!

As I told on my last post i change the fuel consumption unit from km/100L to km/L but I found a problem now.
The instant fuel consumption is showing only 0.0 and sometimes it show 0.3 and 0.9. That is completely wrong.
It needs to show numbers between 2.0 (street driving) and 8.0 (road driving). 0.3 / 0.0 / 0.9 makes no sense.
But when I go to average fuel consumption it shows right numbers like 7.8.
I guess it may be a BUG in the Land Roverīs software. What do you think?

That "battery replacement" is for cars with battery management module. For example start/stop equipped vehicles. Do you have one of these? If not, this is why you get the error.

Generally, when programming something on the car, some error appear because the normal operations on the CAN buses is disrupted. It's OK to erase them all, even, at the end of any programming session, SDD offers to clear all errors.

Configure Powertrain Module, from what I know, is trying to update the engine ECU to the latest version. If it's not broken, don't fix it.... Just my 2 cents.

It's possible to be an error on LR's firmware for km/l consumption unit. Don't know, I didn't used that unit type...

Hi Alex. You are right, I don't have start/stop so I don't have battery management module. I thought that SDD filter only the routines that are compatible with car... but now I see I was wrong.
About the powertrain module I will listen to you and will not mess with it as it is working just fine as it is.
About the suposed error on firmware for km/l consumption unit I will do some researches and if I found out something I will post it here.
Regards!

Additional item: instant speed.
Now the on-board computer has the following items:

1. Trip
2. Range
3. Average consumption
4. Instant consumption
5. Average speed
6. Instant speed
7. Battery voltage

It seems that I am coming up with an item per 24h... Laughing
I will take a break for now... I'm out of ideas... Laughing

Salut Alex.

Following the topic here https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic17821.html , where you can change the firmware for MY2007-2009 cars in order to show the time and have instant fuel consumption in the center display like on MY2010 and later, I've said to myself:
Why not displaying the autobox's gear on the dash, not only on Command Shift mode, but in Drive and Sport modes also.
So I've modified the firmware in order to do that, I've rebuilt the VBF file with the new modifications and I've flashed it back to the cluster.

The result here:

Now you can see how car's behaving and changing gears and, with a quick glance, you can know in which gear the box is.

Revision 1

Password: gearonipc
Add-ons:
1. Clock on dash
2. Autobox gear display for Drive and Sport

Revision 2
https://www.freel2.com/gallery/albums/user...D_rev2.rar
Password: revision2
Add-ons:
1. Clock on dash
2. Autobox gear display for Drive and Sport
3. Correction/linearization of the temperature gauge.

Revision 3
https://www.freel2.com/gallery/albums/user...D_rev3.rar
Password: revision3
Add-ons:
1. Clock on dash
2. Autobox gear display for Drive and Sport
3. Correction/linearization of the temperature gauge.
4. Battery voltage as a new item on the on-board computer

Revision 5
https://www.freel2.com/gallery/albums/user...D_rev5.rar
Password: revision5
Add-ons:
1. Clock on dash
2. Autobox gear display for Drive and Sport
3. Correction/linearization of the temperature gauge.
4. Battery voltage as a new item on the on-board computer
5. Instant speed as a new item on the on-board computer

The thread contains additional information about each version/revision.

Take care, because this is intended for the following set of files, just like in the other topic:
SBL: 6H52-14C025-AA
EXE: AH52-14C026-AD <- this one is replaced
DAT: AH52-14C088-FD (diesel, km) or AH52-14C088-DD (petrol, km)

This set of files seems to work OK with the MY2009 clusters, like I had. BTW, the EXE I had was 9H52-14C026-AB.
And may work OK with MY2007 (like gruodis, from the other topic, has) and MY2008 (because I've flashed the clock modification to a friend with MY2008).
There are other clusters, for example the ones from MY2010, that may have different hardware (and therefore software) and maybe on those wont work.

Make a backup of the old firmware/file in order to flash it back if it wont work.
Worst case scenario, if the flash process is failing, the instruments wont boot/start.
The cluster is responsible for powering up the column steering lock (CSL). If the CSL doesn't disengage, the car wont start.
If this happens, depending on when is failing - during the flash or during the boot, you may need to retry.
If not, flash back the original file. Normally, you can't brick the cluster. It will allow you to retry the flash process.

Anyway, as seen on the movie, it works OK on my car and its hardware (ECU HWN: 6H52-14C226-FD)
If you try it, you try it at your own risk. Please don't hold me responsible if something will go wrong.

And without trying to show off, if you are asking how this can be flashed into the cluster, better don't try it.
You MUST know exactly what you are doing when you're handling/flashing the ECUs of a 20K+ quids car.
The method for flashing with SDD is explained a few posts later at https://www.freel2.com/forum/post222919.html#222919

Hi OP or someone who is able to help,

Could you please re-upload the rar files again?

I'm thinking of flashing this to my LR2!

Thanks in advance!

Maybe you know how to change the format of firmware (.bin) to (.vbf) and back?
